About Colorado Landloping

We’re just a couple of young-ish professionals living in Rifle, Colorado with our silly basset hound mix, Petey. We got him from the amazing Lucky Day Animal Rescue in Aspen, Colorado in January 2015 and we’ve been covered in dog hair ever since.

We love hiking and finding new spots around where we reside (hence, Colorado Landloping). We’re surrounded by miles of public lands. Utah is a quick drive away and there are tons of exciting slot canyons and crazy rock formations to explore. Nathan is the brains behind figuring out where to explore and reading maps, while Stephanie enjoys researching topics to death and tinkering with various things (thanks to her inner librarian.)

We’re transplants like so many others in Colorado. Stephanie is from Michigan and Nathan is from North Carolina. When we met, Nathan lived in Glenwood Springs (working in Rifle) and Stephanie lived in Snowmass Village (working in Aspen). Due to a couple of lucky events, we now live in downtown Rifle and both work within five minutes of where we live. Yay for walking to work!

This blog was started as a New Years 2016 resolution to go on more adventures. And to help remember which adventures we’ve been on. And to get better at taking pictures!About Colorado Landloping: Petey, our basset hound mix likes to ham it up

Stephanie was looking for a way to organize and share experiences with others. We always take so many pictures and enjoy reflecting on the satisfaction that follows adventure. We’re fortunate to live in a unique area that is inextricably connected with and affected by the great outdoors. We’ve lived in Colorado for years but our to-do list just keeps growing!
